The GDC is now applying for a resource consent to proceed with the unproven effective design of a rock revetment  wall stretching to the Pare St creek

Recently in Oct 2009 ,  South Wainui beachfront owners canvased by J Komp (GDC engineer) were polled to see if people wanted to  proceeding with the project.
There were 14 responses received 6 against, 8 for (not a majority by any means).

Accoording to Mr Komp, several more owners have been approached since then and currently there is an approximate 50 -50 split.

It seems to be commonly believed that South Wainui beachfornt owners want the rock revetment. This is simply not  true!!!!
